Purchased In UK have to return to China

Hi all,
I recently purchased a 3D printer part from banggood but decided the part was not quite right for what I needed. The item was delivered Royal Mail 2nd Class within 3 days and the website clearly stated EU warehouse. On the package it says "If undelivered please return to Greenford UB18 7HK" I asked to return the item for a refund but I have been told I have to return to China at an expensive cost. Is this lawful?

Yes, Chinese company obviously has a warehouse in the Uk for stock. They can ask for return to a different address

Purchased in / from China then laws of that country apply .

Yes. It doesn’t matter where it was shipped from, your contract is with a Chinese company.

If the part was faulty you’d probably just get another sent out, but as it’s a change of mind return they can insist on it being returned to China.
