PIP Advice Needed!

Hello,

I was recently forced to move from DLA to PIP.

My assessment report is pretty positive, and upon adding up all the points it appears i should get enhanced for daily living and mobility.

Is this correct ?

I did not attend any assessment, the healthcare professional at Independent Assessment Services was brilliant and very understanding, she contacted my carer, my GP and a specialist and took all my medical evidence also.

This was a paper based review.

I'm hoping i get the enhanced rate of both, that is what she has recommended.
will i get any additional benefits from enhanced on both ?

any back payments? I'm still in receipt of my DLA they've not stopped anything and i'm on the ESA support group, I also have severe disability premium,

  • Also,

The report recommends reassessment after 12 months.

Would this effect my ability to a motability car, and could it be higher than 12 months ?

Mostly the decision maker goes with the report, it's rare to go against it.

The recommend length would be 2 years, with review at 1 year. For the mobility car you need to at least 12 months so yes you can exchange your mobility allowance for a car of your choice.

Some people have short awards, my daughter did for her first PIP claim last year she had 2 year award with review at 1 year. She was also awarded Enhanced for both.
  • Many thanks for your response Poppy!

    It help's a lot!
  • Fingers crossed for you tysum773. There’s a lot of info on the Scope website as well as several fb sites with help and advice. If you don’t get the award you think you’re entitled to, the next stage would be a Mandatory Reconsideration but hopefully it won’t come to that. As poppy says, so long as you have at least 12 months remaining on your award when you go to get a motability car then you’ll be fine. Good luck!
  • You won't receive any back payments as you are going from DLA to PIP.
