About to buy slow cooker-any pointers?

Hi folks,

We want to buy a 3.5 litre slow cooker and notice that there are a lot at argos, all getting equally good customer reviews, want to spend £20-£35 so appreciate any pointers as to what to buy?

a few spring to mind,

The one above is a sear and stew one, does that mean that you can put it on hob, to brown the meat before you slow cook it in appliance?

Tried one at Lidl this week but as its 5.5 litres it was too big.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

You might be better posting on the Old Style forum - lots of folks on there who will be able to offer advise (and many recipes too)

Don't buy arround one, but an oval one, as chickena nd turkey (long-sh stuff) may not fit that easy in a round one.

It it for electricity saving? if not you might be better of with a Sous Vide device, but his is far more expensive and needs bags - youtube and "sous vide everything" is one of many channels
