My only concern is the label has expired so he can’t actually send it now even if he wanted. Special Delivery labels only seem to last 1 working day. I didn’t find out until after I purchased it.
But that’s the only option I have. I’m either going to have to send another label. Ie. Give him notice that I’m sending a label again and he has a day to use it or I PayPal him the money and send evidence to EBay. And he has to get the label himself. If he still doesn’t send the laptop he doesn’t have any come back.
RING THEM, go on thats what you need to do!!

If you got the now expired label from Click and Drop you could try to call them (Royal Mail helpline number is on the site) and they may refund over the phone, if not there's a form to send off for a refund of the unused label.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

I've messaged the buyer asking what day is suitable for him to post the laptop so I can purchase a new label. I cannot keep generating labels until he decides to post it. I've attached a copy of the message to the case he opened so Ebay know about it.
It's a bit daft these labels only last one business day but I cannot help that. I had another look for a courier this morning that would insure it, Hermes didn't have laptop/computers on their exclusion list but would only insure to £300. I'm sure you only have a few days to use any sort of pre-paid label though.
I even tried sending him the money through PayPal just to put the ball completely in his court with the return but PayPal added the outstanding balance to my card payment. :rotfl:
What is an acceptable period for him to get back to me regarding a suitable day? or should I just leave it.0 -

Really this should’ve been sorted the first time I went to the post office but due to you stating the wrong weight now I have to make a 3 hour journey back to Birmingham so hats off to you Peter for stating the wrong weight."
The label was Ebay's own standard return label for buyers. I wasn't asked by Ebay to specify weight. Idiot. Fingers crossed he returns the laptop now. Just hope it comes back in the same condition.. otherwise that's a new problem. lol.0 -
I'm confused now. Has there at any time been a label sent in your behalf by eBay, the one where you opt for allowing eBay to supply a label?
If so then it's for eBay to sort out as they are responsible for supplying the correct label and buyer cannot get a refund unless they show return has been made using that label. If eBay sent the label then call eBay again as those labels don't expire and eBay need to sort it.

Yes, the first label he got was Ebay's own label. The one they provide at a reduced rate of £3.10. eBay said it was fully tracked. They didn't ask for weight, value etc.
He waited two whole weeks to post it using Ebay's label then opened a case against me. I queried it with eBay because I'd done my bit, and they said there was a problem with the label not having enough insurance due to the laptop costing nearly £600.
They asked me to either purchase a pre-paid label outside of eBay to cover the value of the laptop or PayPal him the money. I purchased a label from Royal Mail for £27.60 which I sent to him same day. He did not use this label, this is the one that expired, not eBay's label.
I messaged him several days later to ask why he hadn't used my pre-paid label and he complained that the Post Office refused the eBay label, stating it was overweight by 0.6kg. Which i think is complete rubbish.
He then demanded I organise a collection. And since then eBay has told me to pay for ANOTHER label.
Is this something that Ebay should of sorted out between themselves and the buyer? Because their system shouldn't have let me use their label if there was an issue with weight / value, surely?0 -
There is no weight issue with a laptop and RMT which is what eBay issued as the return label. It sounds like (and this is speculation) that either the buyer knows or the PO asked if he had adequate compensation for the return on that label and he/they decided against the return. What the buyer didn't understand is that as the label was provided to him then compensation for him is not applicable, but that is moot.
eBay provided a label and that label and that label alone should be used. You should not have provided any further label or any more after.
If you can you should ring eBay and rather than asking advice you should explain to them that they provided the first label and the buyer did not use it. You provided a second and the buyer hasn't used it and it has now expired. He still has the first label that he can use (you need to stress this to them). Tell them that you will be escalating the case (was it the 22nd - sorry I'm on a phone) and that you expect it to be closed in your favour as the buyer has not returned. Claim your refund on the SD label as you have a short timeframe for refunds - you need to download a form to reclaim it.0
