in Credit cards
I have been looking into transferring my LLoyds cc balance (£2500) to a 0% interest card. The problem is even though equifax say I have a good credit rating I keep being turned down.
I do not work and rely on disability benefits, my o/h does but his wages are really low (£895 per month). We got into a lot of trouble in the past at one stage owing £21,000... I am pleased to say this is down To £9000 at the moment...but a lower interest rate would really help......any thoughts?

It's probably best not to have more that 2 credit checks in a 3 month period. More than this could addect your credit score. When asking about a card, some take into account household income rather than individual. There should be some threads on the board that mention this which may be better for you. If you have been turned down recently, you could ask them to take into account household income and ask for a Life of Balance (LOB) Account which will reduce the interest significantly if they will not give a CC.After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Your equifax rating is about as useful as tartan paint - lenders set their own criteria which equifax are not privy to.
Just going by what you've said on your post, being unemployed with financial difficulties in past and quite a bit outstanding already relative to your income I think you will struggle greatly to find someone willing to lend you money at 0%. Your own bank would probably be best place to try and apply for first0
