Marcus Log-in Verification Code

Options
Most times I'm sent a verification code however I've logged on twice to my Marcus savings account by just entering my email address and password. Has this happened to anyone else?

It sets some cookies from marcus.co.uk and api.marcus.co.uk when you verify with a code sent to your phone, and if it finds those then it knows you have verified once already on that browser instance and doesn't ask for a code on the next login.

If you want to force it to send you a code every time then log out and clear cookies once you're done.

Opposite experience for me. Most of the time, say 9 times out of 10, I don't need a verification code. Occasionally I'm asked for it, I don't clear cookies

Thank you for your replies. I'd thought of cookies but I ALWAYS clear history and cookies before logging on to any of my bank/savings accounts. Thanks again.

It might be tracking your IP address which doesn't change very often?

No, it's the cookie. The OP removes cookies before every login and therefore gets the verification code. If they didn't remove their cookies, they would not get a verification code.
