Yes exactly; don't accept a 'repair' as it will waste time and you'll be stuck.
I think you have to return the car and keys; everything to them and leave on their premises if they won't agree with or talk to you. Then claim the refund, through small claims court if necessary. Document as much as you can, take pictures of returned car.
He won't be "stuck", if the repair fails he can then fall back on his final right to reject the car.
  • But the 30 days will have elapsed by then muddying the waters and the OP might not be entitled to a full refund at that stage. Anyway there is no need to accept a repair in the first 30 days as I understand it so the best action would be an outright rejection and full refund.

The clock stops when the issue is first notified to the seller. So if the seller prevaricates it makes no difference, the consumer can still exercise the right.

The final right to reject is not time-bound by the 30 day window by the way.

:wall: Yes, and as we keep saying the onus will be on the OP to prove that the fault existed at the time of sale, notwithstanding we're talking about a 10 yr old, Ford Fiesta here.

I'd name and shame as well.
  • What is the situation with warranties sold with second hand vehicles? Does the dealer have to refund those too?
