Currys / PC World. Again.

So I ordered a TV, TV bracket and PC monitor from Currys for business. I get a half baked email the next day telling me the all, or part, of my order is unavailable. The email fails to tell me anything useful such as what, if any of the goods, are available. However, their financial system is very efficient and took the full amount from my credit card immediately (which I find quite outrageous - a similar thing happened to me with another order with Dell and they only billed what they could supply - good for Dell). I sent an email to Currys as requested at 7:30am this morning and, granted it is a Saturday, but as yet (6 hours later) have had no response. Not a good experience so far. I would definitely think twice about using them again. I think the trouble with Covid is some companies are regarding it as an excuse for shoddy customer service. If you can't deliver Currys, have the decency to not take people's hard earned money!0

Amazon, instead, will deliver tomorrow, post-free, the same item for £5.37p.They are not the same items - one is available right now and one is available tomorrow. You have the choice. This reminds me of an old joke. Chap goes into a shop to buy a something-or-other - it doesn't really matter what. He asks the shop assistant how much, is told the price, and says 'fine, I'll take one', whereupon the shop assistant replies 'sorry, we haven't got any in stock'. So the chap walks out and goes to another shop, asks the same question and is given a price twice as much as the previous shop. 'What?' bellows the chap, the shop down the road is selling them for half the price, to which the shop assistant replies 'well buy it from them then'. The chap explains that they haven't got any in stock, to which the shop assistant replies 'Ah yes, ours are half price as well when we haven't any in stock'.

I get the feeling that I must be incredibly lucky, looking around my house my fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, Tassimo, Dulce Gusto, kettle, toaster, 5 TVs, printer, scanner, hi fi, camera, vacuum all came from Currys/PC World, In fact over the years many have been replaced, most recently my 20 year old dishwasher, and my 10 year old tumble dryer. So far I have not had a single bad experience ... walk into shop (or browse their website), pick an item from their selection of wares, proffer the correct monetary amount, graciously turn down extended warranty, go home, wait for delivery, install appliance, use until it reaches the end of its life.
I must always be getting items that were built mid week.
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!3 -
