Purchased home and need to set up second account

Hi there. I am buying a home to move in but it needs some knocking about before I move in. I will stay in my current home which is with the MSE Energy club.

The new home I understand I need to create another account, but as I do so it seems to want me to give details on the current supplier and usage, which I have no details for!

Anyone know what to do??

You need to know the current supplier as you will be on a deemed contract with them and need to contact them and set up an account before you can move away.



As far as a comparison site is concerned you can input any random supplier and their standard tariff as it is not used for switching but is purely to give you a "savings" figure. Usage will be down to a best guess.

Ask your solicitor for details of the suppliers. You are paying good money for their services!

As for estimated usage, consult the EPC.
Of course, if you are planning on leaving it empty whilst it is being 'knocked about', you need to let your solicitors know that, especially if you are obtaining a mortgage.
If it will be empty, you need to make a suitable estimation, which will presumably be low unless the work envisaged will use lots of power hungry tools.
