Amazon Flex Deliveries - Mileage Claim

in Cutting tax
Hi Guys,
Sorry if this has already been asked or if this isn't the correct sub forum, I couldn't find a post with my exact position in it.
I have recently started doing part time work with Amazon Flex, this basically for tax purposes makes me a self employed contractor.
I already work a "normal 9-5 job" and pay tax and NI through PAYE.
My question is as follows in relation to Amazon Flex and claiming mileage. I am aware that being classed as self employed means I will need to fill in a self assessment tax form (my first one being due by January 2020 I guess?) and I have read up about the mileage allowance in this UK; https://www.gov.uk/expenses-and-benefits-business-travel-mileage/rules-for-tax
What I am trying to work out is, for tax purposes, when can I start claiming mileage? I have read conflicting information online, some stating that it is only when I get to the Depot, some saying from when I leave the house to go to the Depot. I read someone that you can claim from the house if you spend less than 40% of your work week at that job. What is the answer? Sometimes I am going to finish a route and be far away from the depot and perhaps on the other side of town from my house (as happened to me on Monday night), do I drive back to the depot to stop counting mileage or pick a logical stopping point, or can I claim all the way back home?
I have downloaded an app (Everlance) to automatically track my driving and I can then mark what is for "work" and what is "personal". So far I have worked 3 shifts which has netted me £91.00. If I am to believe that I can claim all my mileage from when I leave the house to back home, according to my app, my allowance so far would be £79.00 so would this mean that my only taxable income (so far) is £12.00?
Anyone in a similar position or in a similar job role with tips on this specific situation or any other tips would be great!

You collect stuff from the depot and deliver it to the end customer
therefore you are "depot based" and your journey from home to depot is ordinary commuting and cannot be claimed at all as business mileage, whether you are self employed or not since your work does not start until you leave the depot with the item you are being paid to deliver.0 -

Out of interest, what about final customer (FC) to home? Would OP claim from FC to home, or FC to depot (even if he didn't drive to the depot) ? Or whichever is the shortest? After all FC could be next door neighbour and depot 20 miles away, or FC could be 20 miles from home and Depot 20 miles in the wrong direction.0
