Child DLA Processing Times

Hi
I have submitted a claim for DLA for my 12 year old daughter. I received a text to say that it had been received and that it would take up to 8 weeks to process and receive a reply.
I know it's a bit "how long is a piece of string" but does it usually actually take that long?

Yup, more like 12 to 14 weeks. So if you've been told less be happy.0

It could even be longer than that, depending on backlog in your area. Really there's no timescales. The time they give is just a guide.0
