Do Santander automatically check for Alliance & Leicester PPI claims?

I have requested confirmation from Santander re possible PPI on an Abbey CC and am awaiting results. I have since found paperwork relating to a loan from Alliance & Leicester which shows I did have PPI.

As Santander took over from A&L will they automatically include this or will I need to make a new request.

You will need to ask them about it as it depends when the loan was closed as to whether they had records moved over or archived or whatever. Provide any details you have

Santander do not check automatically, it has to be a separate application.

Having further scrutinised my paperwork, I do not think the Loan Protection Policy I had is eligible for any claim. It was for Life cover only.

    Thank you for looking.

Life Insurance is not PPI of course.

You need to understand that "eligibility " is not the issue, though.

It's not somehow automatically wrong simply to have insurance.

Even if you had PPI, you'd have to show that it was mis-sold to you-it's not a problem with the financial product itself.
