I thought it was obvious I meant AA as my insurer as I said i rung them to discuss my renewal quote
Nope, I assumed you meant the renewal of your breakdown cover, as a breakdown is what you were talking about. You hadn't mentioned insurance at that stage.

RAC do a 'no claims discount' on your premium, and I wasn't surprised that the AA were doing the same.

With all the stuff about low sills etc is it possible that the problem relates to an undeclared modification. Whatever the answer I would be contacting the insurer for a much clearer explanation.

The jacking point is 3-ish inches off the ground with a fully inflated tyre. When flat its just not possible to get a standard or scissor jack underneath.

3" seems pretty low. It might be worth you sourcing a low profile jack to do the change yourself next time anyway. Did you notify the AA that you'd need a low profile jack?

I can't see how it would affect your car insurance at all, even if you needed recovered. They should be separate policies and issues.

Even if that were the case it wouldn't explain a loss of no claims.

Also it does seem odd that the OP has seemingly lost 4 years over this incident, I would normally expect 2 years for a fault claim plus the hike in premium seems pretty high. Is there something more to this than the OP is telling us.
