Shpock seller raising price after sale?

Anyone do Shpock?
I have just bought an item that said '£3 extra for delivery' so offered over the asking price to cover delivery. I then asked for his paypal account so I could pay and gave him my address, as I have done for other purchases.
The seller then, for some reason said he would deliver it personally. (Its not too far, but far enough for me to choose delivery as the most economical way)
Hes now saying he doesnt have paypal, or even a bank account and he needs to deliver it as he needs cash. I explain his petrol money would be more expensive than him posting, but that I'm not keen on posting money,
He then says he's going to have to charge me more for him to deliver it personally, so I can give him cash.
I now feel quite vulnerable as he knows my address, and I am worried he is going to turn up and demand extra money. Shpock doesn't seem to have a cancel deal option, (which I think would suit both of us at this stage) and I can't find customer support.
Any advice please?
Edit, I forgot to say, he's fairly inexperienced with Shpock, and have tried to help him, suggesting he doesnt include postage as an option, as local pickups would be more cash based for him.

Contact Shpock on Facebook, I had a response from them in just a few hours when I had an issue.
However, SHpock isn't like eBay , no one can force you to buy now so you don't have to worry about being forced to pay more. As for seller having your address, I really don't think there are hit men online selling household items just to get addresses, yes we need to keep ourselves safe but we also need to know how to be firm and state what we are prepared to accept. Send another message via the system, state exactly what you thought you had agreed to and end up by saying that if that is not acceptable to seller then you would need to cancel and could they please re list.
Lastly I assume you agreed PayPal before you confirmed the sale? Whilst PayPal is fairly common in SHpock t is not an automatic right and I would expect a buyer to confirm the payment details before confirming the purchase.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the reply, no I didnt check he had paypal before buying, most of my transactions have been local so cash, and the times I have bought an item, including postage, the seller would send their email address for payment as a matter of course. Yes I agree its not used as much as in ebay though.
I agree, hes not a hit man looking for an address, but he could possibly want the money enough that if I now say I dont want the item, he could still come round anyway demanding I buy it.
I am always so careful on freegle and my address is the last thing I disclose, I will certainly be more cautious in future.
He's now sending me repeated messages 'you still having it' I dont know if thats a statement or a question!0 -
Thanks for your help, I've messaged him and said I am only willing to pay for the item and the postage cost. If he's asking for more, for personal delivery so he can get cash, that its not going to work out. If theres still an issue I will message them on Facebook, I didnt even realise they would have an account tbh.
Soolin, when you contacted them vis FB was it via messenger or did you post on their wall?0 -

I used the pm system, I've actually 'spoken' to them a couple of times now and they were quite helpful.
SHpock has started to push PayPal , they are trying to persuade sellers to integrate PayPal into their sales (at what I think is a high cost) however it is not actually required on SHpock and many sellers on there are choosing not to offer it due to perceived issues previously with eBay. I would caution against buying something requiring postage without checking first what payment method the seller wants, it is easier to walk away from a purchase before you agree to buy, rather than try and pull out later. It should never be assumed that any seller is going to allow a safe payment method, but of course any buyer would be foolish to use an unsafe method.
I sell quite a bit on there and most of the time buyers ask me when they offer what payment methods I accept, or else make an offer but with the proviso that I take PayPal leaving me able to decline if I choose not to. I do actually use PayPal on there, but refuse to integrate my account and pay the additional SHpock costs, hence buyers having to ask me before they confirm a sale.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you say no and he turns up demanding money just tell him no. And call the police if he makes a nuisance of himself.
I'd interpret his "you still having it " as a question. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Yes I have avoided integrating paypal too. I use it mainly for cash on collection items. This was something specific I wanted, which I couldn't find nearer.
Ive left a message of shpocks FB page. I'm hoping he realises hes best sticking with Cash on collection and we can mutually agree not to complete the sale.
Thanks for the support and good advice, as always from you lovely MSErs! x0
