Car rental for over 70s

Just had a chat with my parents who told me that they couldn't get car rental at Belfast Airport due to being over 70. Is this a common thing, or do you just need to shop around a bit?

If the first link that DoaM posted is still valid and Hertz don't have an upper age limit (and I can only see minimum ages on their website) then they have a presence at both Belfast airports, did your parents try them?

They can get car rental but only with certain companies. My dad had the same thing a few months ago even though he'd given his age prior to arranging the car hire. I'm not sure if it was Hertz or not but in the end they arranged for another hire company to provide the car.
