Energy Efficient Heater
Hey All,
I've just recently moved into a new tiny house. Since it's already cold, I'm on the hunt for an energy efficient portable heater. Am not sure if there is such an electric heater
the room I'm planning on heating is about 400 sq. ft and my budget is less than $100
I've been searching the threads here but couldn't find anything recent that sounded like this, any help appreciated

If your budget is $100 then I guess you dont live in the UK so you might want to find site or forum more appropriate to your country.
All electric heaters are 100% efficient insofar as 1 kwh of electricity will produce 1 kwh of heat.
Any perceived efficiency will be derived from setting a thermostat or timer to ensure that it's only on when needed so get one with a timer and thermostat.
Dunno what the prices are like where you live but there's no point in spending a lot. In the UK a £20 heater is just as efficient as a £200 or even £2000 one and I'm sure the same holds true when using dollarsNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
If you're talking about electric heaters, then you should know that there's no such thing as "energy efficient". These heaters are all the same - the 1 kw of electricity consumed is turned into 1 kw of heat.
I just wanted to mention that you should be careful with portable heaters since they are the number 2 cause of house fires
Electric or kerosene seems to be the choice in your price range. But you can also choose oil heaters or infrared heaters0 -
