I only invest in well-diversified global funds so it doesn't figure in my thinking. If I did invest in single shares, I would not invest in tobacco companies or betting companies. I inherited some shares in Diageo which I still hold as I like their products (and their dividends).0

Even if I held just cash under my mattress, I would be a complicit part of the UK economy - heck, even just as a taxpayer, I indirectly fund arms sale and warfare overseas. My attitude is that it's inescapable and trying to be 100% ethical is like trying to attain a carbon footprint of zero. Just do your best in life and don't knowingly do anything evil if it can be reasonably avoided.: )0
