Kitchen cupboards advice needed

I have an old kitchen that I cant afford to replace.

It isnt that bad but the ends of the cupboards where the plinths? I think they are called , are a bit dog eared. They are at the corners where one plinth meets the other, anyone got any ideas on what would give them a bit of renovation?
I cant paint them because the top layer of whatever this is made of is peeling away.
Its a B and Q kitchen if that helps.
I wondered if there was some kind of adhesive tape that could cover over the whole of the plinths not just the bits that are wearing away.
Any advice would be very welcome:: :

Fablon, it wont look much better and will inevitably peel away again, if you can get it to stick down properly in the first place that is.

If it is just the plinth it could/should be worth replacing. You can get 3m lengths for less than £40, it can vary but yours sounds like the typical laminated plinth, providing you can get a close enough colour match (even if you could get the same range of that which was installed the sun wouldve altered the colouring on them by now, going off the suggested age.) to get away with.
