Newbies Thread Is Closed

As per title ... I notice that the NEWBIES thread has been cleaned up (good) and Closed. As C-m was the only one able to edit any of the main posts anyway ... does this now mean her PPR is permanent?

I think it is closed to stop people posting adlib.
I don't think that C-m's ban is permanent and would hope
that she will have the opportunity to edit0 -
It is disappointing that now it is closed, the quote button has disappeared.0
-
That goes hand in hand ... the QUOTE button allows quoted responses in the same thread; if the thread is closed ......
Just use the QUOTE button in the thread you're responding to and then copy/paste the contents from the NEWBIES as needed. Not quite as neat (with back-links) but does the same job.0 -
Has anyone asked Crabman? Has anyone asked Coupon via Pepipoo? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Crabman was the one who locked the thread and thought the op would be able to edit the thread in future.
That's not exactly verbatim but as near as damn it. Read into that what you will.0 -
Seems to answer the original question.
So until then if there is an issue with an OP's appeal or defence, jump in and fill the gap. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

is correct
I had asked crabman to tidy up that thread by pm , apparently he was away so I asked Soolin to do so, whilst doing it the dross got lost so Soolin reported it and went away too
Crabman returned and tried to finish it off due to further unwanted posts and did so AFAIK and suggested to me by pm that it be locked for now, pending further editing by u know who, so I agreed after I mentioned the PPR, which he was unaware of at that point
therefore, it was locked for now pending any developments, to stop people who should not be posting in it from doing so despite the crabman warning (and you wonder how or why they dont read signs !!)
an easy method of quoting somebody is to find one of their posts, pretend to quote it so you get a reply box , copy and paste all that is in that reply box into notepad or whatever , remove the unwanted text and copy in the bit you want
or just add the square brackets either end of quote and same for either end of slash quote - ie@ /quote
with the text in the middle
then you get a quoted box containing the required text, which is similar for all forums0 -

It is however, much more difficult and labour intensive to carry over all the nuances - like bold, italic, colour, underlining, size, etc. - all of which are used prolifically in that thread.
Never mind. I'll live with it, of course.0
