Hi ladies
I went to see the GP who prescribed me some treatment which has given almost immediate relief. Phew. She also examined the lumps I have found. Her response was essentially that they could be nothing, but she hasn't got x Ray eyes & they could be something. I have been referred to the breast clinic for a scan. Trying to be very glass half full, and swatting away the worries that surface every now and again.
Flying wise? We're all fed and watered, will that do?MFW

It's been a day and it's going to be a week. Not helped that I am having a visit from the black dog; though work is a help.

Thank you so much for the Flylady threads, all of you who keep it going! I've had a cleaner for the last 6 years while my children were small but she has just retired and I didn't know where to start until I remembered this page. I feel great having cleaned the bathroom and downstairs toilet today, however the washing up is now a mountain and there are no clean bowls for breakfast!
I know the answer is to get the children to help but honestly, how many of you get actual real help from your children??!! I homeschool so they're here to do chores but the nagging, pleading and bribing required just isn't worth it! And I quite like knowing the job is done properly.
So anyway I'll see how I get on tomorrow. Just had a thought actually. Maybe I should pay myself the £20 a week? :beer:0 -
(((Hugs))) atb. Sensible GP!
Welcome frankerooney :wave
Yes, definitely pay yourself the £20 a week for cleaning, or maybe offer some of it to your children as extra pocket money if - but only if - they do extra chores. List the jobs at 50p or £1 each and let them choose which ones they do. Be prepared for initial enthusiasm to wane quickly, but stick to your guns: no chores, no extra pocket money!Christmas pudding in the microwave? Genius Ionafan...
:eek::eek: Not microwave but slow cooker :eek::eek:
I have used the microwave to re-heat Christmas pudding occasionally, but because of the high sugar content you have to be very careful not to burn it or turn it leathery. In my experience the MW is OK for gently warming small slices on medium setting, but old-fashioned steaming or using the SC beats all other methods for cooking and reheating whole puddings
Rosie got her walk between showers, pudding no. 3 is done to a turn, washing is folded, course prep is finished.
All my list for today is complete apart from re-making our bed, and I shall do that immediately, before falling into it.
G'night all xx0 -
*waves* Hello
I think I need to give this ago!!
All I managed yesterday was pick up lego and wash up!
Once I'd got my son to bed, I watched a bit of tv then fell asleep by about 9!!
I tend to leave all the cleaning till the weekend then sulk as i want ti relax not clean or do something nice with son. So hopefully this should help sort it out a bit.
Daft question..
Do I need to do all the levels??# 36 1p challenge 2024 - £536.60

She asked if I was available in the next 14 days, so I can only assume within that timeframe. Thanks hun xx
All ready for work, kids dressed for school, beds made and WM on. DW to go on shortly. Extra make up needed today, look tired xMFW

Morning all, and welcome Couldsavemore  You were up early!
No, you don't have to do all the levels (nor even all the jobs within each level) - they are just to help you prioritise what needs doing. If you complete Level 1 each day, you will soon see a difference and be able to start incorporating some jobs from Level 2 as well, and eventually you'll get to Level 3. Start training your son to pick up the lego - playing "Helpful Hands" works well with little ones, whilst competition against the clock and the promise of a longer bedtime story generally goes down better when they get to school age.
I had a better night's sleep last night with no interruptions from DH or Rosie, so I've already made a cuppa, put the 4th Christmas pud in to cook and started work
Today's list:
- finish my prep reading
- take DH to SW (but I'm not staying)
- wash towels and bath mats
- tidy and dust all through downstairs so that DH can hoover later
- early lunch
- do a bit of shopping in town (I need another basin for the last Christmas pud and some dog food for Rosie)
- run a study course session at church (first of 4)
- take Rosie for her walk
- early evening meal
- DH has a lift to a meeting this evening
- I have a different lift to a different meeting!
- finish packing for the 2-day conference starting tomorrow
Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) and spoons to atb and anyone else in need xx0 -
Lots of posivibes, ATB. You have a very sensible GP. We're all right behind you. X
(Hugs) and sticks, Valli. X
Welcome newbies :hello:. I definitely don't (ever?!) do all levels. You do as much as you can do, and gradually you find that you've done something from another level without too much anguish. I often 'lose' complete rooms to the week, but, hey, they come around again next week. Stick with it, and it works, as well as having lots of lovely support along the way.
Geniius, Ionafan, utter genius.
Bathrooms are on my list this morning. Somehow they were neglected last week. See above comment about losing rooms0 -
Ionafan ... I READ slowcooker; in my mind I am picturing it in the slow cooker so will blame menopause/idiocy on that error. Fear not!
Frankie .... homeschool? Call it 'domestic science' or 'work experience'! You are teaching them to work efficiently and effectively so they'll have more time for fun!
Off on a trip today to support my colleague. Into a museum in the steel city. House is a tip because I lost it on Sunday evening and didn't care.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
