    Any of the EBay ones are much like any other, and new ones turn up at around £120, including bits. They do work, mine is two plus years and has done a couple of hundred posts. Still just as new.

    There are branded ones. I'm a cheapskate, that's why I hang out here, so I can't recommend any one brand. However, they use many identical components to the cheapies. The Hyundai ones are exactly the same as some of the unbranded ones.

    Clay soil is fine. The stone and slate may cause more problems. When they catch a stone, the head turns when the auger cant, and it can hurt!
