Can you work up to 16 hrs and still claim JSA?

I don’t want to get into semantics but I don’t interpret the advice to have the same meaning as you.
My interpretation is this: If OP works overtime it has to be taken into account (as explained in the ADM). If OP works different amount of overtime each week the result would be fluctuating hours to be taken into account. These have to be averaged out in order to determine if the 16 hour threshold has been breached.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
I would speak to your work coach at the job centre and see if they can offer any guidance.
Although granted I know they all don’t know what they are talking about.
Good luck.0 -
If you are on JSA and you work 16 hours you lose the benefit for that week - hence they launched Universal Credit which is supposed to aggregate this sort of thing - so you should get an adviser to do a benefit calculation - you might be better off switching to UC if you have a part time jobIs this correct? Possibly have the option of a part time weekly 7.5hr contract @ a supermarket, would I still be able to claim JSA alongside this?
What happens is one week I do overtime and over 16 hours - lose the JSA?
Wondering how those who claim JSA and then find part time work still claim or lose the benefit? If I ruled the world.......0
