Tree next door causing damage to wall

The dividing wall between my property and next door is being damaged (I believe) by the roots of a large coniferous tree in next door's garden.
The house next door is rented out and I'm fairly sure the tenants (Romanian) don't know the owners as its rented through agents.
I have used the land registry to find the owner and now have a name but no address (the registered address is next door). I have tried googling the owners name but not successfully. I've also searched on BT's directory enquiries.
I would like to contact the owner to ask them politely to remove the tree and fix the wall.
I could write a letter c/o next door and ask the tenants to pass it on but i'm not convinced that would be successful

Any advice is appreciated.

Hand deliver a letter to the agents and tell them of the problem and ask them to forward the letter.

The agents are the one entity you can identify.

Do you know who the agents are?

If not, check the property websites to see if there are details of who was involved in the last let.

Contact the agent to find out if they are managing the property and/or if they can pass a letter on to the owner.

  • Thanks for the replies. I don't know who the agents are.

What websites would show past lets? I've never seen a sign put up and the tenants have changed many times over the 8 years I have lived here.

Sigh... I know this suggestion is way out there... but you could start by talking to your neighbours! I would imagine that they might just know who the agents are! :wall:

In fact, I believe an agent is required to provide landlord's address to tenants?

Zoopla may have the agent's details on it if you try doing a search by postcode. Alternatively try googling the exact property address - it's amazing what pops up sometimes.
