Just a brief one from me to let you know my lovely Bob lost his long battle with bl**dy cancer yesterday, He went peacefully, with the same dignity and courage he has shown throughout his illness, with all his family around him. It was a very long and traumatic day but he is now at peace and painfree.

Some of the longer standing posters on the Daily (and also the T Thread) have been with us throughout the 5 years of his illness and the love and support we have been shown has been so much appreciated over the years.

I shall probably be missing for a while as there is so much to do and arrange and I feel less than sociable but eventually I hope to be back to posting.

Thanks for this sad news. You have all shown such strength and love through all this. I send my love and condolences to you. Keep your happy memories close and take time to grief.

    Xx

    TA

I am so sorry and others have said this much better than me but I am glad he was able to have his family around him and be surrounded by love. Gentle hug to you and your family at this awful time.

Youngest and bf have just gone out for a bracing walk in the rain and I need to get on with cooking a chicken and mushroom curry for lunch. Think they might be setting off after lunch and it has been lovely having them. We all met up with older dd, sil and baby yesterday afternoon at a country park and lake and have a long walk then treated ourselves to fancy sit down fish and chips. At one point I ended up with baby that I had just coaxed into sleep in my left arm while I ate my meal one handed with my right arm. DD and sil were quite surprised to be able to enjoy a hot drink and their meal as that is unheard of just now.

    Hugs to all
