Refund when purchase price has halved?

Not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes anyway. Bought an lcd tv 9 months ago, it had a few issues that I managed to put up with but then it developed a fault that required attention.
It is still in its 12 month warranty period and I also took an extended warranty. I also have all the original purchase receipts etc. If offered a direct swap I am happy to try the model again but could I opt for a refund? Also the price of the model has dropped by £700 during the 9 months I have owned it, would I be entitled to the full price I paid at purchase? Do I have to accept an offer of repair as it is in its 12 month warranty period?

It is up to the retailer to decide what to do.
They will choose to repair it, replace it, or in the event that neither can be done they will have to refund you a partial amount to take account of your use of the TV for 9 months.
As the first two options are very viable they will not even have to think about refunding you.0 -
Well if they refund you it will be to the price on the receipt. However, since they know that they are more likely to try to swap it for an equivalent product or go for the repair.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

Thx for the replies. Think I might try and persuade them to exchange, or even pay extra for an upgrade model. Will let you know how well they deal with the issue and post all the details.0
