hi ,i've just had a quick look at Liverpool councils website. they have a service called Supporting People, which if its anything like the service Manchester City Council offer is excellent.http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/Health_and_social_care/Social_services/supporting_people/index.asp
You should give them a ring and ask for their help. You need someone to act on your behalf to make sure the benefits unit have got the correct information about your benefits. It sounds as though they might not have because if you are getting DLA you should definitely be getting full housing and council tax benefits.
If the bailiffs are coming about your council tax, you do not have to let them into your house, unless they have had access before. You can speak to them through the window and once you have made them aware of your difficulties and told them that you are seeking advice they should leave you with a form to make them a payment offer, this should buy you enough time to seek help. Don't let them bully or persuade you into letting them into your house or agreeing to a payment offer.try this link to CAB website for info.

http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/do_it_online/find_it/ seems to have useful links to advice services for adults.
keep posting ,let us know how you are getting but please don't do the o/d thing again,,thats just letting them win.doing what I do best...trying!!-- lainey :j

Is it possible that the housing/council tax benefit has not been processed & the council does not know you were even claiming it. Believe me, this sort of thing happens a lot as the benefits people are usually way behind.
Have you anyone that could call the benefit people for you & ask if you have an outstanding claim to be sorted, perhaps a housing officer could do this if you give them permission.
Good Luck.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
They sent an e-mail saying i will get the voucher within 28 days0

The claim was processed but they are saying they overpaid me. gave me full housing benefit and c tax and i should have paid some and its from may 2006 to march 2007. i showed them all my proof of income so its their fault0
