Renting a car with an IN10 endorsement.

Back in 2015 I was slapped with an IN10 endorsement. Something about vehicle modifications I didn't even know existed after buying a car.

Oh well, you live and learn.

I got a lovely 6 points with this IN10 to boot.

Now the IN10 has expired and the points are no longer current as it's been 3 years since the "offence" but they don't come off the license completely for another year (or is it two?)

I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies that will hire out a vehicle to someone who has an IN10 still on the license. It's quite urgent actually as I didn't realise this was even an issue until a company (Avis) rejected me this afternoon.

Very grateful for any suggestions or experience people have.

This gives an indication of companies to try. Unsurprisingly they don't like no insurance convictions.

A lot of people don't realise the problems insurance convictions can cause re hiring cars. Also some on here don't realise how cars can be sold to you with undeclared modifications, and then you have an accident that wasn't your fault and the insurance company bails on you because of them. This happened to my nephew.
  • For anyone who reads this in the future I found two useful companies.

    The first is: https://indigocarhire.co.uk/faq/driving-convictions/
These guys couldn't help me due to my location.

I then found these guys who where happy to do business with me despite the IN10. The one down side is they put the excess up and won't let you buy the waver but the fact they'll hire to a driver with an IN10 is a god send.
