Hi,
Need some help!
We have just been traveling down a dual carriage way in the Birmingham area and a branch from a tree fell on to our car causing lost of damage to the wing mirror and the pillar.
I’m unsure who would cover this damage? Trees over hangs the road and at the time it was windy but there was no heavy gusts at the time it happened.
We have reported it to the council and also reported to the police, there was witnesses and we have there details.
Is there anything else we will need to do?

Call your insurance company and get your claim in, I can't see any other agency paying for it but see what they say when you call.0

That comes under 'act of God', unless the owner of the tree was aware that it was dangerous and likely to shed branches. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Who owns the tree?
Given that we're in the middle of a "named" storm, and there are severe weather warnings in place, it is almost certain that the tree owner would be able to point to the weather conditions as being adequate cause for a healthy tree to shed a healthy branch.0
