Parking on my own driveway....

So I received a parking charge by a private company for parking in my own space, I had the disk in my car but it must have slipped down the side as I closed the door. when I checked my mail a few weeks later I got a letter for a parking charge in that space. However the location of the charge was wrong.
I deployed to the Falkland Islands with the army a few days later so I got my girlfriend to write a letter but as she was staying with her parents she put the return address to their house, instead they rejected the letter and keep sending letters to this address, she rang up and said I dont live there and they said they need authorisation from me to change it. How was she supposed to authorise something when I am overseas?
I rang up them up myself and explained the situation, the woman on the phone called me a liar saying the bays are not marked but they are... because its my parking space.... for rent which I pay.. I told her I want my girlfriends parents address removed from their system as it was nothing to do with them, but they wanted a different address as they said they got this information from the DVLA which is not true, I told them I could not provide an address as I am deployed overseas and they asked for my parents address, which have nothing to do with them so I didn't provide it. She then threatened me with a CCJ but I assume if im not actually in the UK anymore they cant do anything?
What can I do about this, its a completely outrageous charge, I could not defend myself properly as I was overseas (even though I sent 3 letters) and they wont listen to the fact its my own bloody parking space. The woman on the phone lied about getting the Address from the DVLA as well as getting the location of the fine wrong.
Any suggestions?

What does you lease or rental agreement say about the need to display a permit. Some agreements have that detail and some don't.
The usual way to determine it is whether the parking company (which one) was there before you arrived.
They also cannot issue CCJs only claims that might lead to a CCJ is undefended. You'll know a lot about defending (and my hat off to you)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thankyou for a prompt reply! The rental agreement came with a parking space however they sent a letter out saying they changing the company in which enforces parking In the area and these came with the disks for the car. But the rental agreement clearly states the parking space comes with the house. Due to the change the agreement did not contain anything about displaying the disks.0 -
Show us exactly what the lease permits you to do
We need the actual lease wording, not a parphrasing.
Far from you "getting" a CCJ - and they of course can issue a claim to you, you havea UK address! - you have to go to court and lose, then not pay iwthin a month.
You coul dalso counterclaim against them. If the spac eis yours, nad you have clear possession of it and no allowance by your lease to let them into it and charge you for using it, you could sue them
You should be tll ing your management company to get this cancelled as well.0 -
Never 'phone a parking scammer. Everything needs to be done in writing.
Which parking scammer is it that has infested your property?
You could write to the scammers, quoting the VRN and PCN number, and give the scammers your current address for service. It doesn't have to be a UK address.
I'm quite sure you can get post whilst on deployment.
Alternatively as above but give them your home address in the UK as long as someone can intercept your mail with your permission. It might depend how long your deployment is going to be before you decide which address works best for you.
Does the V5 logbook have the correct current address? If it does, you could send a copy of it as proof of address for service.
Complain to your MP back home about this unregulated scam, especially considering your current loyal service to the realm.
As above, but complain to the MA, having determined exactly what the lease says. The important parts will be about permit schemes, if the name of the PPC is on the lease and Head Lease, and whether a third party can issue charges and instigate court.I married my cousin.
