Weswap currently has an offer on Moneysupermarket.com. Sign-up through the link on Moneysupermarket.com, load £500 or more and you get a free 7 day swap (Money exchange?) and £35 added to your weswap account.

The offer I saw actually said:
Simply sign up to WeSwap via the link on MoneySuperMarket.com, make your first load of £500 or more and we won’t charge you any fees on your first 7-day swap - that’s perfect interbank rates on any of our 18 supported currencies.

Plus, we’ll give you an extra £35 to spend, credited within 5 working days.
From this I figured that you have to load the card with £500 or more in one go. i.e. Cannot split it to two/three loads to make £500.

I signed up, got the card, and was all set to load the card with £500. First attempt, First Direct Debit card. Load declined. Error message from first direct bank said I need to contact them. Second attempt, nationwide debit card. This time, it was an error message from WeSwap 'something went wrong. If the issue persists, contact your bank'.

I contacted Weswap support by email, then while waiting phoned them. Support agent told me that the load doesn't need to be £500 in one clean sweep. We could load many times to make it £500. Then soon after 5 working days the £35 is added to our we swap account. ALso, she said there is no 30 day deadline within which the card must be loaded. THe email I received from weswap to begin with actually said the load needs to happen within 30 days of sign-up.

Has anyone gone for this deal, btw?. I've got some doubts. Surely, if multiple loads to make £500 is allowed this should be made clear from the start?

p.s: Just got an email from WeSwap support. Attempting two different debit cards in quick succession is apparently not a good idea. That's probably what happened with the second attempt.

If successful in loading your WeSwap, how do you intend to get your £500 + £35 back..?
    Evolution, not revolution

Decided not to go for this. Had issues loading card. Also, from what I've read it has minimal acceptance online.

Overseas ATM use cannot be that great. (exchange rate and fees).

Doing the basic math. Even if I ask for card value to be refunded. I'd be left with £495 (£500 - £5 admin charge) + £35 (they do not refund the promotional balance. We have to spend it using the card).

Again, heard that the card is not accepted sometimes when trying to pay for stuff (e.g. inflight). problems loading, consistent support answers, issues with using the card. Is it worth it? I don't think so. If anyone's interested in a pre-pay card offer, go for the FairFx. Simple loading. After load I paid a Credit card balance using it straightaway. (The we Swap card was not accepted when I tried on the same site recently).
