Lloyds/TSB

Hello all
I am pretty certain i had a loan quite a while ago which i paid PPI on
The loan was with the TSB
The TSB and Lloyds joined together but was forced apart (i think that was the story but please correct me if i am wrong)
My account was originally with TSB but after they seperated i was then with Lloyds (not sure why)

Who would i check about PPI with now?
Should i send a letter to both banks to cover all bases

The other problem i have is that i dont have any paperwork concerning the loan as it was quite a while ago and things have been lost after various house moves but i am surmising that the banks will have records?

Thank you for any advice

To be honest, with no documentation or account numbers you are going to struggle with this especially as you don't even know the approximate date or indeed whether you had PPI.

If your loan was with TSB, that is the Bank to which I would address any speculative letter you might send. You'll need to provide them with as much information as you can if they are to find you, but expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.
  • Thanks for the reply and the info on who to send the letter to

I do agree that it will be a struggle but nothing ventured nothing gained as they say
Its worth a go though and if they say no then i havn't lost anything

Do the banks have to reply if i send a letter to them asking if i have ever had PPI on anything i have had with them?

They are only legally required to respond if you send them a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter. However, if they have kept no information (due to the passage of time) all they have to do is tell you they have no record. I fully expect that will be the response you receive, I'm afraid, though I'm also happy to be proved wrong,
