Pip assessment

Hi

I had my pip assessment yesterday, and I know ther is a long wait for a decision.
I just wanted to know, why I was only on my assessment for 20 mins, when I’ve been seeing people in for over a hour and sometimes longer.
Could this be the fact, that I went with my recent care plan from my mental health team.
As I just thought i was not in there long enough.

And just one more question, if successful will it be backdated from when I rang and claimed. Or when they received the claim form they sent me.
( I am not going from dla) this is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this.

Many thanks for any advice

If you rang to request a PIP form, any award will be backdated to that date.

Can't answer your first Q, but a care plan may well show that you need help with the PIP activities.

  • Many thanks Alice.

My partner said that it might of been because we gave the care plan, that we was not in that long and that this might of answered some of the questions already.

Now it’s the long wait no I suppose.

But the lady did say it had moved to between 4 to 6 weeks before a award

    Thanks

The length of time you're in the assessment for means nothing. Some are in there for more than an hour, while others are in there for less than 30 minutes.

There's no timescales to decisions and the HCP wouldn't have any idea, what they told you is just a guide. Some wait 2 weeks, others wait 8 weeks and more.

Leave it a week and ring DWP to request a copy of the assessment report, this will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be as they mostly go with the report.
  • How do I get the report of my pip assessment

    Thanks
