Noise when i use Hot Water

Hi,
Looking for some advice regarding some issues i have encountered with my cold water tank. Recently it was overflowing so i had the whole valve replaced, problem solved or so i thought. Gladly the overflow stopped but now whenever i switch the hot water on upstairs or downstairs it makes a noise, kind of like water rushing up pipes noise so after reading up on some forums i checked in the loft to see if the noise stopped if i lifted the ball valve up to stop any more water coming in to the tank whilst hot water is being used and it does stop making the noise. I am a total novice so wouldnt know what is happening. When i switched the stopc0ck back on after the float valve had been changed i did switch it on rather fast and maybe more turns than what i had done to close it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

If I recall correctly, those fill valves tend to be rated for either high or low pressure. I wonder if the new valve has a low pressure insert, rather than a high pressure insert.
I'm sure someone with more experience will correct.0 -
Hi, thanks for your reply, it was a type 1 valve (the bendy arm) that was fitted.
The noise seems to come when filling the cold water tank and will stop soon as valve closes.0 -
You've got an old fashioned valve. Those were noisy. Live with it IIWY.0
