Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, thinking, as always, about the TA's.
Sun keeps popping in and out, a stiff breeze. Off into Melton OH is doing research at the museum whilst I am at the carers meeting for an hour.
Have the council chap coming this afternoon to look at the toilet, its leaking again.
Frittata for supper with salad. The rest of the lemon cheese cake for dessert.0 -
Morning, quick check in from the sunny West Midlands.
Thinking of the TA FAMILY, Holly, Poppy, ~taff and everyone who is ill or worried.
Nothing much going on here but the arthritis in my paws has racketeering up a couple of notches. Nothing much in the scheme of things and either it settles or I just get used to it. Not great for a knitter though.
I'm going to have a warm bath.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
The weather today has taken a turn for the worse, it's wet, windy and very dark out. Will have to put the light on if I need to do anything . I have no plans for today, but there are plenty of things I can do to keep myself occupied should I feel the need. Maybe just general tidying away/sorting out, especially in the spare bedroom/ laundry room/ warehouse :rotfl:.
Mr Fix It is playing in his shed...... again ! I think he's keeping out of my way. I wonder if I can get his bed up there too  because he's already had to order a power lead for his laptop this morning........... at the cost of £40 +. He still doesn't know how he's crushed the end of the lead .
Well I suppose I'd better get myself dressed . I slept until 10 am but woke up still tired, I think that my dream about running a marathon ( never going to happen in RL ) has worn me out before I even start the day :rotfl:
Tea tonight will either be the leftover gammon or something from the freezer. I noticed last night that there was some HM curry and rice in there too. Choices, choices !
Hope everyone has a good Thursday.
Hugs to all today. Take care.

Late one from me today sorry. I didn't manage to post first thing as I dropped a pound coin under the side board at breakfast time. Investigation with a torch (fetched by the HT) revealed my coin, most of the pipe cleaners we have given the cat to play with in the last year, my sciatica ball (it's smaller than a tennis ball and spiky) and a large dead spider. All of these were removed and dealt with before we went to get dressed.
I went shopping straight after I dropped the HT at school. I was going to leave it until tomorrow - we have just about enough milk but the thought of joining the Friday rush put me off and I did it today. After I'd out the shopping away I thought I'd better cut the grass as the forecast for the next few days isn't great. The grass is cut and the garden is tidy and weeded, ready for winter.
I cleaned upstairs earlier in the week. I was going to do downstairs today but as I've done the garden, downstairs can go on the job list for tomorrow. I'm hoping to start running again on Monday as the cold seems to finally be on the way out. It's not harmful to run when you have a cold but I'm asthmatic and couldn't get up the stairs without being out of breath last week. Colds always do that to me.
Thinking of the TAs, HollyandSpeky's gran.Take care the rest of you0 -
Hi all,
Cranky - I didnt have time to post this morning either,a reluctant 4 yr old grandson to get dressed ready for school.
DS left it to me as he is feeling awful with an eye infection and absolutely streaming. He went to the docs yesterday about his eyes but he wasnt very impressed with the Nurse, but got some drops. He still had to drive to school though, and thankfully DGS skipped in today without clinging onto Daddy. When I picked him up yesterday,he took 1 look at me and scowled ( he wanted DS to collect him but he was at work). It was the headteacher who saw them out,and said ooh thats a sad face.He did it last week too, they're going to think I'm an ogre or something, bit embarassing really :rotfl:.
It's his Grandads funeral tomorrow lunchtime which DS2 and I will be going to. Consequently I got DS to drop me at As da to buy him a new white shirt along with the shopping. Also picked up a new batch of T shirts etc with their logo on,cost over £100- perhaps thats why you only have 3 RRuby
Snoozer- there is a male assistant in one of our local supermarkets who is very stinky _pale_, you can always tell which section he's working in.Hope you are feeling brighter today x
Lainey, sympathise with the late calls ,being self employed DH also gets this. His latest client thinks nothing of texting at 10.30 at night,or before 7 even on a Sunday !
Camelot, thanks.Yes Ly1a was pleased to see us but it doesn't seem to make a difference if we've been away for days,or just doing the shopping for a couple of hours :rotfl:she's always leaping about when we come in.
As always well wishes and hugs to those who are poorly xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
It's been very dark here all day. Just as I set foot outside this morning the heavens opened, I feel got at!
I did a run to the tip with my rubbish and recycling then went to the local supermarket to stock up on essentials. Bought mince, milk, eggs and veggies. I also 'treated' myself to a couple of fresh ciabatta rolls and (hanging head in shame) some D airylea spreading cheese. :rotfl: It's one of my favourite comfort foods. I know, I'm old enough to know better, however I thoroughly enjoyed it.
My one student was off sick today and the non-show one was also non-show so I logged off the video conference after 15 minutes. I spent the time feeding my leather sofas and chair with conditioner cream as I've neglected them for a long time. I could almost hear them sighing with relief. The chair is going to a friend next week so now it looks a lot better. It was quite soothing rubbing in the cream and it all looks lovely now, no rough dry bits.
My DM is all stocked up too. Her cleaner and husband are bringing her the paper on Saturday, the paper is very important as DM spends her whole week doing the two crosswords in the Times.
Now the rain is streaming down. The Rest is still closed so the 60 mile diversion is still in place. Engineers are breaking up three large boulders before the emergency road can be opened.
Could be the evening for a wee dram! :j0 -
Hi everyone, I had a lovely text chat with a relly who lives in a land far away, then was off to Scrabble this morning. Home for a quick bowl of soup, then took a friend swimming. So this is the first chance I've had to catch up with Old Style.
I hope your day is going as best it can. It's rainy here, after yesterday's unexpected sunshine bonus. I'm now in for the rest of the day, and the heat seeking missile is making bread on my lap prior to curling up and cuddling in. What a shame, as I'm a firm believer in letting sleeping cats lie, that I won't be able after all to do any dusting. What a hardship!
Fab romanesco for tea last night. Are you familiar with it? It looks like a green Dr Who version of cauliflower, with fantastic spikes in bright green, very beautiful. Tastes like a more flavoursome version of broccoli, a bit sweeter and nuttier. I hope it turns up in my veg box again.
I made a decision today about something I wasn't happy about, and it comes under the category of stress avoidance. I was educated, as many females were, to put others first, and this isn't always good for us as individuals. This particular situation had become a considerable discomfort, so I've now withdrawn from it and it'll be better for my overall happiness and health. All done with no hard feelings, which was good.
It does take a lot of discomfort for me to get to the point of making a change, more than is good for me, I'm sure. It's a continual judgement call in all areas of life, as I don't want to lose the balance between being accommodating and self preservation. However, dealing with burnout and it's consequences are educating me more rigorously about the limits!
Hugs to all poorlies, carers, insomniacs and concerned amongst us. Speky, I hope you and your Gran are okay. Waves to TA xxx. Have a good evening everyone. xxx0 -
evening.
went to post this morning, and gave up with the lack of signal - on a train across the peak district...rubbish.
i harvested some heritage bean seeds today once i got home, they are coming thick and fast now as the pods are drying on the plants...hoping we don't have too much rain over the next few days as they can go mouldy on the plant at this stage.
and my one quince, i am hoping it hangs on for a while longer as it is not ripe yet...eek
hope everyone is ok0 -
Evening chums had a glorious day weatherwise here in Kent although it was a little damp tonight .The gardener came and my lawn once more is a beautiful verdant green after the brown straw-like mess it was a month or so ago.
Spent the afternoon knitting away at the baby balls for my DGD and just counted up I have a nice little pile of cash in the spring holiday fund of £110.00 which I only had to lay out for the stuffing as my wool stash is quite big and the swirly brightly coloured balls use up lots of ends of balls from the stash.Only another ten sets of 6 to make so 60 more to make and I managed 4 today so only 56 to go:):) which will put another £100.00 in the holiday fund.
Tomorrow afternoon I have history club which I always enjoy, my friend Pat said she will be there, and will need a bit of support and cheering up as her OH has just been diagnosed with MS bless him.
Lovely chap and he is finding it hard, as is she as he was always so full of life and now has had to change his whole life to accommodate this awful illness.
So many people are having a tough time at the moment ,life does seem so unfair at times.
DGS Jack is home tomorrow for the weekend as his pal is giving him a lift home and back on Sunday, so I'm looking forward to seeing him as well.
Hope everyone has had a good day and hopefully tomorrow will be better for those who are struggling.
My thoughts and love to Mrs TA and family xx
Night, Night, God bless all here
