Selling my car without original V5

Hi,
I’m in the process of selling my car and recently got my settle this figure through from my finance company.
The company that have valued my car, have valued it higher than my settlement figure which is good news - however... I’ve just realised that the finance company hold the original V5 and even though I have a copy of it, the company I’m selling the car to require the original.
The finance company won’t send me the original V5 until the settlement figure is paid, but the company buying my car won’t buy until I have the V5... has anyone been in this situation before?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

So in effect the car is not yours to sell.0

Take out a loan, pay the car off and then settle the loan?
Or get the company buying the car to pay the finance directly?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
So you're not the registered keeper?
Is this a logbook loan you've taken out on your car?0
