Halifax bank account package reclaim

Hi guys,
Anyone had any joy reclaiming off Halifax. They never told me about the insurance, dating back to 2010 . Tried reclaiming but they wouldn't take it further due to the length of the claim. Should I go to the Ombudsman?

Yes there are. And plenty that haven't. Your post doesnt suggest any issue that is unique to Halifax.They never told me about the insurance, dating back to 2010
Halifax were sending annual benefit statements for some years. So, what are you doing when they arrive?Tried reclaiming but they wouldn't take it further due to the length of the claim.
What is the exact reason they have given for the rejection? This is important. For example, if they are timebarring you because it is more than 3 years since being reasonably aware of an issue and 6 years from purchase, the FOS will not be allowed to look at it.Should I go to the Ombudsman?

I had the reward and then the ultimate reward account. Every year without fail they sent you a statement / booklet which detailed what you got, what was covered on the phone/travel insurance etc. There is no way you didn't get sent one (not saying you received them all of course).
Chances are because they were doing this for years they have time barred you under both the 6 and 3 year rulesSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

If they make mention of a time-bar, that means that they did tell you about the insurance (perhaps you never read their letters?) and that they aren't even going to consider your complaint. If this is the case, all the Ombudsman can do is ensure that the time-bar has been correctly applied.0
