Completely new bank account with no monthly deposit - I've confused myself!

My daughter needs to change her Halifax Save4it account. (Shes now too old for the account)
We have looked at lots of bank accounts/savings accounts and most of the ones we have seen require monthly deposits, we are looking for an account that she can deposit money into and just leave. Would prefer instant access, but am now also wondering about putting 2.5k in a fixed savings account and leaving the rest in her normal bank account incase she needs it.
Just looking for any advise as my brain is frazzled!
TIA

Trying to regain my comping mojo
