How do I make a claim under a manufacturer's warranty?

The details are:
  • I bought a Bosch dishwasher on 10th October 2017
  • I bought it online from AO.com.
  • It came with a two year manufacturer's warranty
  • I used my credit card to buy it
  • It stopped working on 9th October 2018, displaying an error code which means an engineer would be required to fix it.
  • I want the machine to be repaired or replaced free of charge, or a refund. Don't really mind which - I just want a working dishwasher and expect the machine I bought to last longer than one year!
  • I haven't taken any action yet because am not sure how to proceed.

Any advice on how to proceed gratefully received!

TIA :)

    Answer is in your post!

As Bosch don't post on here, you need to contact them.

Contact Bosch as per your warranty.

<I want the machine to be repaired or replaced free of charge, or a refund.>
You have no rights against Bosch to any of that .
Your rights are what the T&C of the warranty says .
Your Consumer Rights are the way to proceed against the Vendor AO .
In the first instance contact AO and see what they say .
They may ask you for an independant enginners report as its more than 6 months old .

Ok, note though it would be down to the T&Cs of the warranty and that any refund could be reduced to take into account the 12 months use you've enjoyed.
Probably better to contact AO first.

As Bosch are not the vendor hardly likely to give a refund .

Nor will AO. Speaking from experience ex owner of a fire risk Indestit (Whirlpool) tumble drier, had to go the S75 route as Resolver were as much use as a chocolate teapot.

AO are the brown / white goods equivalent of TalkTalk phone / BB.

    Best just to avoid both.

However in this case Bosch will probably repair.

The OP can contact either Bosch or AO.

Whoever he contacts, I would expect a technician to be despatched and a repair and or basic maintenance made under warranty.

In the meantime, OP might want to check for easily removable blockages etc which might negate the need for any "repair". The Bosch error code should give some indication of what the actual problem is. This can be Googled.

I sincerely doubt any refund will be given, as it sounds like user error.

Bosch Neff Siemens have had major issues with there dishwashers also with fire risks
The company issued an alert in July 2011 about a problem with 632,000 machines, sold under the Bosch, Siemens and Neff brands.

Despite efforts to contact customers, the owners of 479,000 machines have not responded and so their dishwashers have not been repaired.

2011 is now more than seven years ago!

I sincerely doubt therefore, that the OP's appliance is one of the machines (or even the model) affected.
