Lost/Missing Saving Account

I have been contacted several times by Lloyds Bank via post regarding a savings account I have with them. It’s not one that I opened, but I vaguely remember my mum telling me she opened a savings account for me when I was younger but she died when I was 22, and I have forgotten about it until I received a letter or two from Lloyds at my parents address.
Unfortunately due to GDPR rules they won’t release my full account number on the letter, merely the last 4 digits; and I’ve tried to give them as much information as possible to help them search their old records, but when their results came back they advised it’s not on the digital system, (despite receiving automated letters) and they cannot find any records of my account paperwork.
I feel like I have money invested that I am entitled to, but the bank are unfairly keeping it. It’s not right. I also feel like this is one final parting gift from my mum, that I desperately want to receive. It could be a fluffy teddy or £1, and I still would feel the same. I don’t imagine it would result to very much, as my parents struggled financially on very low wages, but it’s the principal of being fair.
Has anyone else experienced this? Have you managed to get the bank to find your old (unknown) child savings account? What more can I do? Will the Ombudsman help to put pressure on the bank to not give up?

I don't understand, if they are writing to you about the account then they must know the details of it, so what are they asking you to provide? It can't be anything to find the account, so presumably they need to identify you and establish that the account is actually yours, I'd imagine you might need your mum's death certificate to help with that if she opened it for you.0

It will depend on the kind of account opened at the time.
Years ago my kids had Firstsave accounts which were in my name until I decided they could have the money.
If that is the case here then the OP needs to contact his mum's executor (if there was one) to contact the bank and do whatever is required to get the monies to you.0
