"New" laptop recommendations

I'm in the market for a new laptop. It's for business use, i.e. Microsoft Office mostly, not gaming, so needs a decent spec, but nothing outrageous. Needs a proper numeric keypad on the keyboard as I work with numbers all day. At least 4gb Ram, at least 2 GHz processor speed, at least 500gb hard drive, so nothing particularly spectacular I don't think.
More importantly, though, is that I want one that is actually designed/engineered to work with Windows 10. I bought my last a couple of years ago (HP) which said it came with Windows 10, but I had no end of trouble with it, and it quickly became apparent it was actually manufactured with an earlier windows version on it, and the upgrade to 10 was done later. (So much didn't work, conflicts, etc., that I decided to do the full system restore to factory settings, and it came back with windows 8!). I did lots of online reading and found there were all kinds of incompatibilities with the hardware, i.e. the wifi adaptor was known to be incompatible with windows 10! I don't want to go through all that again, so need a "new" machine that properly comes with Windows 10 and is fully compatible.
Any recommendations?

Where is the budget?

Though I would prefer with SSD.
What's the full model number of the HP?0 -
Options with SSD and a more powerful processor, one with built-in capability for mobile Internet.

Do check with the vendor beforehand if they have numeric keypads. Some pics show to the affirmative, though some show it differently.0 -

Budget would be around £500-£750, but I need 500gb hard drive.0 -

Do you? Or do you have data that you may occasionally need to access? I have more than 500GB of data but most of it is stored on USB hard drives (multiple copies for safety), which I can plug in when needed, with the things that I use more often easily fitting on the laptop's internal 128GB SSD.0 -
PC Specialist are good

i5 Specced with 8Gb ram and 512Gb M.2 SSD Drive, comes out at £750 inc vat.
Or £822 for i7.
Has a numpad and the keyboard is backlit too, which is an underrated feature. Extra £30 for pro version of win 10.0 -

I think the glowingly red keyboard backlight would be a step to far.0 -

You could always communicate with the vendor, asking them to fit a 500 GB SSD for you. Warranty conditions should stay the same, though you would have a five year warranty on the SSD. Expect to pay around 100 pounds more including the fitting.
Drive itself perhaps 85 or around 70 if you can reclaim the VAT. Probably best to buy the SSD yourself and have it sent to the vendor subsequent to any agreement.
So bank on approx. 470 GBP for the business laptop in post #4, replete with a 500 GB M2/SSD.
Nobody should buy a laptop with an old mechanical HDD, unless they have the ability to change it to an SSD for themselves or by someone else cheaply. Once you have an SSD fitted, you'll understand why.
SSD are so much more efficient and robust. Every task will be more responsive.0
