Independent Furniture assessor

Hi,
In the process of trying to get a full refund for a Sofoligy suite (3 seater sofa & matching chair), only had it for 4 months, tried Sofology complaints procedure, no joy, thier technician states “ normal wear & tear”, so went to the furniture ombudsman, they are siding with Sofoligy, no suprise there! I need to get a report from a Independant Furnature assessor.

Can anyone recommend a assessor that is located in Scotland.

  • Homeserve Furniture Repairs Ltd cover the whole UK including Scotland, I think they've just put their prices up but it used to be £90+vat for a call out and report for private customers. They don't necessarily side with the person paying the bill, so keep in mind if they don't find a fault you'll still have to pay the fee. If they do find a fault not covered by wear and tear (after 4 months how much wear and tear should there be?) the cost of the report should be reclaimed from Sofology.
Don't forget if you used a credit card or paid with finance, the card issuer or finance company are jointly responsible alongside Sofology.
Well informed on the subjects of sofas and wood furniture, and well opinionated on everything else :rotfl:
