Trouble with Arvato

Hello,

I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some advice on my situation...

I've got a defaulted debt of £360, which my credit report shows as being with Arvato since 2013 and most recently on 19/09/18.

I've been in touch with Arvato over the past few months trying to pay it off but am having trouble for a few reasons. Initially, they told me the account was closed but if I wanted to re-open it I could pay it off. I said yes to that and asked for the necessary details and ways to pay (it's registered to an old address so I don't have any paperwork). I was sent a list of ways to pay but wanted to pay via their online portal, for which they didn't give me the client reference which I apparently need. I chased them for this, at which point they said they no longer owned the debt and had passed it back to H&M (the original debt). This was on 24/09/18 but as I said, my credit file from the previous week showed it as still being them, so unless they very recently sent it back, I don't believe them.

I got in touch with H&M as per their advice, but H&M have said they've had nothing from Arvato to say that the debt has cleared and the account hasn't been passed back to them.

I'm now planning to go back to Arvato stating that I really want to sort the debt and letting them know that H&M don't claim to have it.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Most frustratingly, I can't find a phone number for them so can only communicate by email - and they seem to take up to 2 weeks at a time to reply
I also don't have the details of the debt that I need to pay it off (i.e. the reference number) so am reliant on their co-operation.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
