i have received a conditional offer of compensation with regards to them changing the mortgage terms whilst the mortgage was still in effect
i had complained to the bank verbally about the issue that i had However i was told in no uncertain terms that the bank could do this and my options were to redeem the mortgage or pay the increased charging rate.
They now say that they had made a mistake but they knew what they were doing at the time
The offer of compensation seems quite low but i am not sure what to do as according to the bank the time limit to complain to the ombudsman has now passed as it is over 6 months from the date of the letter
any thoughts anybody0 -
