Help! Lba failed to deliver

After months of mither about a car I bought with a fault I have a bill of over £600 for the car dealer to pay, I have sent two letters with recorded delivery and followed the rac conciliation process ( waste of time! ) however was told by rac that the garage was now shutting although they are still in business and selling cars through auto trader. I sent an lba letter with recorded delivery last week but unfortunately after checking track and trace I have a message saying pending and there didn't seem to be anyone in so is back at the post office.
Do I send another one? Or just continue with my threat to take them to small claims court?
I am not expecting them to pay as they have lied and ignored me constantly over the past few months.
Thanks mat

You don't need to sent the letter signed for, that just gives them the opportunity to refuse it. Just send normal first class post but obtain proof of posting and it's deemed as delivered after two working days. Some people just to cover all possibilities sent two letters from two different post offices to rule out any P.O./RM internal issues causing delays0

Send it first class post and get free proof of posting from a post office. Legal paperwork is deemed delivered two working days after being posted unless it can be demonstrated otherwise.
Unfortunately a lack of signature means they can demonstrate they didn't get it. First class post is an acceptable means of service and makes it very difficult for them to demonstrate they didn't get it.
For the record them merely saying "never got it guv" doesn't cut it as evidence of none receipt.0
