    Morning all,

Had to take an impromptu day off today, OH and I went out walking yesterday to a local beauty spot that the NT are spending a lot of time and money on its a lovely area and we walked for maybe 1.5 - 2 hours, on returning to the car park a man walking along warned us that a lot of cars in the car park had smashed windows, turned the corner to find that my car has not one but two smashed windows  they had been through the glove box and a coat which was in the back seat obviously looking for a wallet, my stuff was thrown all in the hedge and there was glass everywhere !!
Six other cars had been done on the same day, but a man had left a note on my seat saying he had dash cam evidence and left his number, I phoned him and he has a clear video / photo of the man smashing the windows this has been passed to the police who have said they think they know who it is so hopefully they will be able to arrest him, I am already £95 out of pocket which is the excess on my insurance and lost a days holiday, I am so cross that these people just think they can take things without the consequences for others

Camelot hope your ds op goes well and that him and his GF are ok xx

Hugs to the TA's as always xx

Off to ring Autoglass again !!

Morning all, a nice sunny day here, so far. OH and DS will be out for the day so am going to get some house jobs done and then relax. I'm very tired after less than 2 hours sleep though.

Hope the Dumplings get over their colds fast, mine is still lingering. Camelot, that does sound painful. Loving thoughts to Holly, the TAs and anyone else who might be unwell or worried.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Morning folks.

Well, it's the day after the Flood here... can't begin to imagine how much rain fell yesterday, it never let up, just sheets and sheets of it. I've read reports of floods on the A83 all the way down to where it joins the A82 at Tarbet. 'Passable with care' is the phrase of the day.

Just to add to the misery there's an amber warning for more rain covering today and tomorrow. Perhaps I need to bring out my unused wet suit!

Redruby - how dreadful for you, it's the inconvenience which is a pain. Can you claim your excess from the culprit via the courts?

Camelot - what a calamity for your DS and his GF, a collar bone fracture is difficult to deal with. At least they were both well looked after by others.

Yesterday I cooked some chicken thighs which turned out to be so tough that they were really inedible. Such a disappointment too as they were from M&S. I had to retrieve something from the freezer, turned out to be a beef korma.

Now I'm off to work. Really don't want to go outside today. I'm beginning to come round to the idea of giving up work next year completely. Lots of factors come into that kind of decision though it's mostly down to not enjoying it anymore. :(

    Happy Monday to everyone!

Redruby, what an awful thing to happen, especially on holiday, I hope they catch him.

Olliebeak, are you on the Wirral? Steve comes from there and his sister and family are still there (in the house he was born in) so we go up quit often.

Dumpling, I hope the colds get better soon.

I've been plagued with blocked sinuses this weekend which is making my ears whistle although they are quieter than they were. I also woke with a stonking migraine yesterday which knocked out a good portion of the day. However, Steve's cold is much better and he played golf with Chris yesterday which makes them both happy.

Laura is off to Berlin today for work and doesn't get back till Wednesday s we won't see her when we drop Ziggypup off tomorrow. Then we're off to Yorkshire on Wednesday for 9 days.

I want to sew as much of this quilt as I can before we go. It's getting very tricky and I spent a whole day unpicking and re-sewing one block of about 14", it's still noy perfect but will have to do.

Camelot your poor DS2 has really been in the wars – I hope his collar bone mends quickly and he's not in too much pain.

WeeMidgie – maybe your duck legs got up and walked away?:D

Nelski please say hi to Holly for me when you spek to her.

Taff I had to G00gle kimchi, as I'd never heard of it before. I don't think it's for me, somehow. I don't like anything remotely spicy; and certainly not with shrimps in!

Redruby I hope they get the vile little pondlife who smashed your car windows and rifled through your stuff. Some people are just plain evil!

I have to dash now; Mr Wolf has to see the PD consultant, and I'm going along to bring the car home to avoid the eye-watering hospital parking charges.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Sorry late posting, its been a frantic morning, 3 people turned up at the same time......one was our financial advisor, so made him coffee whist OH sorted himself out.

Its a bright morning, but a stiff breeze, the clothes on the line are almost dry, they have only been out about an hour.

Gardener is here, grass cut, he is digging up some fruit bushes, they are being passed on to someone for their garden. The landscaper is due tonight to give us a quote for the garden.......it will have to be the minimum for now, I have just tied up a wadge of money. There is going to be a freeze on spending for a few months.

OH has said he does not want the CA after the end of October, so will have to tell the company. He is a lot better than he was and coping quite well with looking after his washing needs etc.

I need to lay the fire, it gets cool in the evening, still using up coal from the shed. The replacement for the open fire arrived this morning. Its slightly smaller than I though it was, but no matter, we will have heat if we need it without putting the central heating on.

RR that is awful, we had a similar thing happen to our car in the railway station car park, I came back to the car to find the back window smashed. They had taken a camera bag from the back seat. Bet they were disappointed when they opened it. It was OH's first aid kit for St John AB!!

Quiche for supper tonight with salad.
  • Good afternoon all, it's mildish and breezy here. The forscast for the next day or two seems ok.

I'm late today, and haven't posted much over the last week or two, life seems to have taken me by the scruff of the neck, and I've been busy.

Ds2 was running his first marathon yesterday, and we drove him there and back, as it was 1.5 hours from home, and he didn't know if he would be up to driving back after running 26 miles in 4.5 hours - he wasn't, as it turned out. I suppose he could have done it if he'd had to but fortunately he didn't have to. We were out all day, so I've been catching up today.

What a nasty shock for you Redruby - hope they get the person who did it.

Hope everyone is having a reasonable day.

    Take care folks.
