Hi there,
Apologies for adding to the troves of parking fine threads. I have read many,if not all of them,I’ve been very worried so tried to do my research. I cannot however find one that eases my anxiety. I just pray that someone reads this and can help me as I have a lot of stresses at the moment and this is just adding to it.
I’m July this year I parked for half an hour in an NCP car park that I park in daily Monday to Friday. I have done this for two years and have always paid their extortionate fees. However on this day, I was a student Paramedic and had one of my final most important exam. I was running late and in my panic totally forgot to pay for a ticket. I only remembered upon returning to the car after half an hour. Needless to say a couple of weeks later my Mum (who’s name the car is registered in) received a fine. She passed it onto me,I appealed it and wrote to the NCP admitting blame but hoping they would have a heart thought it was worth a try. I realise now that they do not have hearts and this was probably a bad move. But when I was training I was not being paid so financially could not afford to pay either. I’ve since ignored all further letters from them hoping the situation would go away.
I’ve now been contacted by BW Legal, they have called me 4/5 every day for the past week and have sent me letters. The latest is threatening to take me to the county court if I do not pay by the 7/11/18 and my fine will rise to 240 with interest and court fees added on etc.
My query is do I still have any chance of not paying now I’ve admitted it was me? Or does this mean that they have me over the proverbial barrel?
I’ve finished my training and have qualified as a Paramedic but am waiting to start my job,I currently have no money and my outgoings are more than my incomings and I am relying on my generous parents so would massively struggle to pay this.
Apologies for the long post but I am really becoming rather scared at what this whole situation has become and would MASSIVELY appreciate any help.
Also worth noting-the original fine from NCP went to my Mothers address as the car is in her name, after I admitted it was me driving all further correspondence has come to my address without me giving it to anyone. Do they have access to finding address’ etc?
Thanks again.

Firstly can you edit and 'advanced edit' and change your thread title, as you cannot live with that vague thread title for all your time here. It tells us nothing, and is just a scream...!
Look at what other people put in their thread titles, the PPC's name at least would be good...think of us clicking on this thread each and every time you want more advice; it doesn't help us to see a thread that tells us nothing from the title.I’ve now been contacted by BW Legal, they have called me 4/5 every day for the past week and have sent me letters
Insist on LETTERS only and prohibit any contact by phone from now on.
Finish by confirming that your ONLY address for service of court papers is:
xxxxxxx
xxxxxx
(to stop them embarrassing you by reverting to Mum's house for the claim). The latest is threatening to take me to the county court if I do not pay by the 7/11/18 and my fine will rise to 240 with interest and court fees added on etc.

Yours is no different, about half of posters defend as admitted driver, if not more. You have a defence as you paid the tariff before removing the car from the location, so there is and was no 'legitimate interest' in charging you £100 in a later letter. There was nothing to deter.
Your Mum probably gave them your address, or they traced you which is easy enough and allowed. The harassing phone calls are NOT, so stop them.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Are you able to show all the other tickets you paid for at that car park over a long period of time.
P&D ticket are difficult to beat so it will come down to the judge's view of honesty.
Sit on your hands and see if they carry out a threat as they may not do so.
