Best Reward Cards?

Hi,
Bit of an unknown here, but would welcome any advice.
Over the coming years we will be spending a fair bit on holidays and we use our Barclaycard quite a lot, generally around a thousand each month.

What would be the best reward card to put spending on? Was thinking of getting BA's card as we can use this for holidays as well, but not sure as we are then restricted to BA holidays.

Be interested to hear views on how people amass points on their cards, what they use them for etc.

Personally I use a cashback card which gives you an amount back to the card annually.
This is the best for me.
I think I can get better deals on flights myself using the internet than try to get availability on a BA flight to somewhere I might not really want to go.
Just my opinion.
