Gavin and Stacey takes ‘boy meets girl’ to the next level in this refreshing, and hugely celebrated, new comedy from acclaimed writing duo Ruth Jones and James Corden.
Gavin is an ordinary boy from England; Stacey is an ordinary girl from Wales. They speak every day on the phone at work, and yet they have never met... until now. After countless conversations long-distance, Gavin’s dreams come true and he meets his Barry Island babe in the flesh but their worlds spectacularly collide when their unpredictable friends and family get involved. They want to be together but will their friends and family let them?
Screen favourites Rob Brydon and Alison Steadman join an outstanding cast in this contemporary comedy about young romance, and two people who refuse to let the miles between them stand in the way of true love. Starring Mathew Horne (Catherine Tate, Roman’s Empire, Teachers) and Joanna Page (Gideon’s Daughter, Love Actually) as well as Ruth Jones (Little Britain, Nighty Night) as the forthright and tattooed Nessa, and James Corden (Fat Friends, History Boys) as the blokes’ bloke Smithy.
Gavin and Stacey is produced by Baby Cow (Mighty Boosh, Nighty Night, and Saxondale) and was originally transmitted in May on BBC3. Series 2 is due in 2008.
The DVD contains the entire first series, 6 x 30 minute episodes, and a wealth of features including outtakes, a behind-the-scenes documentary, interviews with writers and co-stars Ruth Jones & James Corden and audio commentaries on selected episodes.
