Gatwick McDonalds - I declared myself as driver in first appeal

I wish I had seen this MSE forum before I'd made my claim to MET.
The owner of the car appealed to MET, and explained they were a valid customer of McDonalds (bank statements can prove this) but didn't see the parking notices, and didn't understand the concept of a validated ticket. They acknowledged being the driver. They have failed in the appeal and now have a POPLA code.
Is POPLA worth trying?
The signs aren't clear and certainly not that pressing the big green button on the exit barrier would result in a £100 charge.
I'd rather begrudgingly pay £50 than give these crooks £100 if I fail POPLA.

It all depends on signage and why you didn't see the instructions.
If you can't show that, then best to take the lower hit - unless, of course, you were sent the NtK out of time.0 -
Nonono, NO-ONE pays MET.
This might still be won at POPLA, and so what? MET don't sue, so ignore them if not!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
