Incorrect Vehicle Reg no. on PCN

Hi,

I've spent some time browsing the forum and understand that if someone found a Parking Charge Notice attached to their windscreen then there are options to appeal. However, it's difficult to know which is the correct template to use. I understand that the appeal should be made about three weeks after the PCN was received.

The circumstances are as follows:

On Sunday last week the car was parked on land at the front of a factory. The factory is situated next to a busy retailer that had limited car parking spaces available. As it was a Sunday, the factory was closed, its shutters down and its forecourt was empty of vehicles. The car was parked for no more than 15 minutes in total and the PCN was affixed approx 4 minutes after the car was parked. Warning signs were observed after returning to the vehicle.

The VRN number is incorrect by one digit on the PCN. a O has been entered instead of 0. However, apparently there is photographic evidence that can be found on the parking company's website. They are UK Parking Control.

The location is given as the name of the road that the factory is in. It doesn't provide the name of the factory but alleges that the driver of the vehicle breached terms and conditions by parking the vehicle but because no name has been provided, it's not clear whose terms and conditions have been breached.

Are these relevant grounds to appeal or would it be better to pay £60 now to avoid it increasing to £100?

Could someone please help by providing a link to the correct template to use for these circumstances?

Thanks very much in advance.

Go to the newbie sticky post # 1 where you will find this advice: -
Appealing a private PCN (England & Wales ONLY)

Windscreen ticket from a BPA member? = STOP - wait and research before appealing!!

If it was a windscreen 'PCN' (not postal, and not an Indigo Railway 'penalty' - see Q&A above) wait 3 weeks and in that time, you MUST check the firm is an AOS member with the BPA or IPC (GOOGLE & CHECK THEIR LISTS).

In the case of CURRENT (NON-DVLA-BANNED) BRITISH PARKING ASSOCIATION (BPA) AOS MEMBERS ONLY, appeal online or by email at around day 26 after a windscreen PCN but as the KEEPER, not driver, using the ''one size fits all'' blue appeal template below.

Read all about it and, if you have any questions, post them here. Whilst waiting for day 26, do some more research by reading about posters in a similar position to you.
